Accessibility
This site should work for everyone who wants to find out about getting a property washed. This page says plainly what has been done, what has been tested, and what to do if something gets in your way.
What we aim for
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly used, and it is what the pages here are built and checked against.
What has actually been tested
Every page is checked with automated accessibility testing before it goes up, covering colour contrast, image alternative text, heading order, form and control labelling, and the presence of a visible keyboard focus indicator. Pages are also checked at desktop and phone widths for text that overflows, overlaps or gets hidden behind something.
Automated testing does not catch everything. It cannot judge whether an image description is genuinely useful or whether a page makes sense read aloud from top to bottom, and we would rather say that than imply the site has been proven perfect.
Specific things we have done
- Text and background colours are checked to meet the contrast minimum, including text sitting over photographs.
- Every photograph carries a description of what is in it, rather than a filename or a keyword.
- The site can be navigated with a keyboard alone, and the focused item is visibly outlined.
- A skip link lets you jump past the menu straight to the page content.
- Headings run in order so screen-reader navigation by heading works properly.
- The menu on a phone opens from a labelled button rather than being hidden with no way to reach it.
- Where the site moves — sections appearing on scroll — that motion stops for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion.
Known limitations
Video on the site does not currently carry captions. Content on third-party sites we link to — Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Yelp — is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
If something does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it. Call (501) 365-6845 or email [email protected]. It helps to know which page and what happened, but a rough description is fine.
If the website is the barrier, it does not have to be. Everything on it can be dealt with over the phone instead, including describing a job and getting a price.
