Old surfaces need a different setting
A hundred-year-old house is not a test bed for pressure.
The historic housing near the middle of Searcy is exactly where careless pressure washing does lasting damage. Old painted timber, soft historic brick and lime mortar all behave differently from modern brick veneer, and a setting that is fine on a 2005 subdivision wall will take paint off a nineteenth-century weatherboard or open up a mortar joint.
That is the reason the method here is dictated by the surface rather than the schedule. Siding of any age is soft washed at about 100 PSI. Brick, stone and pavers run 500 to 1,500 PSI with dwell time so the joints are not disturbed. Nothing is decided by what would be quickest.
Mature canopy in the older streets and around the parks makes the shade problem worse in exactly the neighbourhoods where the surfaces are most delicate. The Little Red River and the spring park system give the town more riparian green space than a straightforward subdivision market, which is pleasant to live with and hard on north walls.

I have an older home. Is this safe?
Yes, provided the pressure matches the surface. Painted timber and historic brick get low pressure and dwell time, not force. If a contractor quotes an old house without asking what it is built of, that is worth noticing.
Can you clean historic brick without damaging the mortar?
Yes, at 500 to 1,500 PSI with dwell. The dwell is the part that does the work; the pressure is only there to rinse.
Do you cover the university area and the newer edges?
